- · DP Fuglewicz Presentation:
“Benefits of Serving on Standards Development Committees” – This presentation will discuss several types of benefits SAE members can receive from actively participating on SAE’s Standards Development Committees. Citing his own experience, the presenter will discuss his activities on the SAE J2728, Heavy Vehicle Event Data Recorder Subcommittee, and how both technical and professional benefits were received.

“XATA Mobile Systems and SaaS Overview”: - This presentation will provide an overview of XATA Corporation and showcase XATA hardware platforms, mobile deployment and our SaaS User Interface.
- · Aaron Swearingen Presentation:
“Vehicle Network Communications”: - This presentation will provide an overview of the two primary heavy duty vehicle bus networks and the supporting SAE standards
About the Speakers:
Matt Srnec (Mobile Systems Manager, Xata Corporation) – Mr. Srnec’s background includes over 18 years of electronics manufacturing, quality and systems engineering. He is responsible for the technical relationships between Xata, its key suppliers and heavy duty truck OEM customers. Other responsibilities include product quality, system installation design, wire and cable design, and administration of Xata’s Product Lifecycle Management. He is a certified Six Sigma green belt, SMT Process Engineer and holds a BSEE degree from the University of Wisconsin - Platteville.
Aaron M. Swearingen (Senior Embedded Engineer, Xata Corporation) – Mr. Swearingen has just passed his seventh year at Xata. He develops and maintains the firmware used for embedded solutions that reside on board vehicles used by the shipping industry. The key responsibilities for these devices include collecting data from the vehicle and driver interfaces to provide compliance with DOT regulations. He has a BSEE degree from North Dakota State University.
Daniel P. Fuglewicz (Director of Automotive and Embedded Technologies, Xata Corporation) – Mr. Fuglewicz has been involved in several aspects of automotive engineering for over 20 years. In his current position, he is responsible for the embedded systems that communicate directly with light- and heavy-duty vehicles and with various telecommunication devices. In previous positions, he has been technical lead for both NHTSA and FMCSA research programs. He has served on SAE and IEEE standards committees, and has 4 patents for advanced sensor / data acquisition systems. His BSEE and MSEE degrees are from the University at Buffalo, NY.
